6 Tips for Creating Content When You’re Stuck

Quality content is a huge factor in SEO rankings, but it’s not always easy to create quality content on a consistent basis. For the times when your creative juices aren’t flowing, here are a few tips for making sure your website is up-to-date on content.

1. Compile quality resources for readers.

This is probably one of the easiest options for creating quick and easy content. Round up your favorite resources that are relevant to your readers, and share them. Not only are you helping your readers, which builds trust, but you’re also packing your website with useful content.

2. Have a guest blogger.

Guest bloggers take all of the work out of content creation – all you have to do is press “publish.” Guest bloggers offer a different point of view for your readers, giving your website diversity, as well as making it easy for you to update content without having to put in a ton of work.

3. Conduct an interview.

Find someone relevant in your industry and get his or her inside tips and tricks. While this sounds time-consuming, the easiest option for both parties would be for you to compile a list of questions and e-mail them to the interviewee to answer. This way, he or she can answer on his or her own time and come up with thoughtful responses. Plus, no one has to leave the office.

4. Write a review.

Consumers always want to feel secure in their purchases, so make yourself an industry thought leader by reviewing new products in your industry. Is the “next big thing” really too good to be true, or does it live up to the hype? Are there cheaper versions, or is it worth spending the extra buck?

5. Share your lessons in success/failure.

Show people step-by-step how you achieved your success, but refrain from sounding braggy. Share lessons you’ve learned along the way, as well as where you’ve failed. Share your biggest challenges and how you’ve learned from them, as well as things you may have done differently in your career.

6. Conduct research on your competitors.

Your competitors are your competitors for a reason. By benchmarking and researching what they’re talking about, you can better improve your content. Find a website that has the success you’re striving for, and do what they do. That doesn’t mean completely copy their content, though; find new and creative ways to spin their topics and ideas.
